Othmar Zschaler, born in 1930, is a Swiss jewellery designer and goldsmith known for his modern and refined creations.
He is recognized for his innovative use of gold, as well as his meticulous attention to detail and textures.
He began his journey with a four-year apprenticeship under a wise master who introduced him to the wonderful world of jewellery. Following this, the young artist moved to Bern, where he continued his studies for the next ten years while simultaneously working as a freelancer. By the age of thirty, he established his own studio with a small showroom in Bern.
His work seamlessly combines simple geometric shapes with finely textured surfaces, resulting in timeless, sculptural jewellery.
His abstract creations are featured in prestigious private collections and museums around the world, including The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and the Schmuckmuseum in Pforzheim.
