- Klaus Ullrich (1927 -1998)
Pioneer in modern post-war jewellery, Klaus Ullrich experimented with innovatively textured gold surfaces, which the artist simply used to call "welding" to describe his special technique. Besides his work as a jewellery designer and goldsmith, Ullrich also taught at the Pforzheim school of Arts and Crafts for more than 30 years inspiring several generations of young jewellery artists. He considered gold to be the central material of his jewellery design using high quality of gold with the help of stones, gold wire, silver, steel and bone.
His jewellery is part of the collection of the Schmuckmuseum in Pforzheim.
