• Gilbert Albert (1930-2019)

 

Gilbert Albert was a Swiss jewellery designer renowned for his innovative and artistic approach to jewellery creation. Trained at the School of Industrial Arts in Geneva, he began his career as a watch designer in 1955, joining the workshops of Patek Philippe at the age of just 25. He quickly rose to become head of the creative department.

Albert later shifted his focus to jewellery and opened his first workshop in 1962. His creations are distinguished by bold, sculptural forms and an unconventional use of materials. He worked with a wide array of elements, including precious and semi-precious gemstones, metals, and organic materials such as sea urchin skeletons, shark teeth, and peacock feathers.

Gilbert Albert's jewellery has been exhibited internationally and has earned numerous accolades, including multiple Diamonds International Awards. This ring with interchangeable beads is one of his iconic pieces.
